Camille Soulat grew up in Montluçon and is a self-taught artist whose practice spans digital painting, writing, and video installation. Now based on the outskirts of Paris, she develops a body of work grounded in intimate forms of narration. Her research examines scenes and subjects infused with subtle supernatural undertones, exploring the threshold where the ordinary shifts into the extraordinary. Through the diffuse shapes and ambiguous silhouettes that emerge in her digital paintings, she investigates processes of transformation and perception.
Her work further engages with the cultural and symbolic frameworks that structure notions of marginality, class, and identity, analyzing how these systems of signs inform collective imagination and social experience.
